[Day 5 - LE] Honor your King (Social Thread)
Re: [Day 5 - LE] Honor your King (Social Thread)
"Oh, well, that's too bad," Tiffani said to Bowie. "You should consider sticking around awhile.
She takes a couple more drinks then asks, "Where do you plan to go from here? Not that you have to tell me of course. Just idle curiosity."
Then she playfully elbows Gray. "You should know all about curiosity." She smirks at him.

Gray smirks a little, licking his paws demurely. "Oh, I've got curiosity aplenty. And believe me, I am a master of "satisfaction brought him back"" Gray swipes one of the drinks that Tiffani ordered ans starts sipping it.
"Just don't ask me to sing. It's...well, been called "pack of wet cats in a sack". That is not the only quote. It is, by far, the nicest"

"Oh my god, you actually know the rest of that saying!" Tiffani smiled broadly at Gray as if knowing that little factoid meant the world to her. "So many people only know about how it kills the cat."
She could feel the alcohol going to her head, the buzz entrenching itself into her consciousness to the point where she swayed just slightly on her bar stool, but not quite in any danger of actually falling off.
"In that I think we're a lot alike. My parents kept warning me about my curiosity and how it was going to land me in no end of trouble. Still, though, it's who I am."
Watching Gray lick his paws, she grins again, then looks away toward the bar tender so as not to make Gray uncomfortable. "Do uh ... do you still get, like, uh, hairballs even though you're not ... well, you know ... totally a cat anymore?"

"I can't really talk about being too curious...that's kinda what I do. But hey, being curious made me come over here, and that's working out for me." Gray tilts his glass. "More drinks."
He chuckles at the "hairball" comment. "That would have been inconvenient for my Keeper. I'll put it this way: if I spit anything out, you better watch out, because it's gonna be pissed about it"

Tiffani tilts her head one way - and then the other as if mulling something over. Then she shrugs ambivalently and inches her glass toward the bartender with the tips of her fingers.
"Yeah, why not ... more drinks," she said perhaps a little hesitantly. After all, she wasn't usually a heavy drinker and she was a small girl on top of it so she knew it wouldn't take much to get totally pissed ... err, drunk, as the Americans say.
"I really don't know what I do. Perhaps I really don't do anything at all. I know ... some people are into some strange things, but I haven't a clue what those things are. It's like ... it's like a bee that buzzes near your head but always just far enough away that you can't swat it. I can sorta read emotions really well. Like that guy over there ..."
She points to a man with a group of friends each with a large beer stein in front of them. "He's laughing, sure, but ... in truth he's really sad, lonely, even a little frightened. He's simply putting on a front for his friends, but he'll probably go home tonight and fall into a black dog depression about, well, something or other. I can only read emotions but I can't always discern their cause. That takes a certain amount of perception."
Tiffani turns her attention back to Gray. "Something tells me you're into something strange, too... but that's your business. I know when to draw the line, but trust me, my curiosity is killing me to know what you're in to."
She asks the bartender for a straw; he reaches under the bar and tosses one next to her drink. She seems to struggle with the wrapping, perhaps just a little too tipsy to have the fine motor control to get the straw out of there - but she eventually manages.

Gray's smile becomes a touch more forced. "Well, that's my allure, 'innit? It's got you hanging around, I can't say that I mind the results."
"But you can really read people like that?" He studies Tiffani a bit more carefully now, not simply paying attention to the pretty facade.

Tiffani nods slowly, one hand idly playing with the ice cubes in her drink, swirling them with the straw. They make a soft little clinking sound as she does.
"Most of the time I just tune it out - or I would be overwhelmed with the emotions of others. Coming to a place like this with so many people would be impossible. I can sense everything from deep depressions to sexual desire, from painful longing to abject hatred - all of those emotions are present here, given off by someone. It can ... drive one to the brink of madness; I can lose sight of my own emotions if I'm not careful."
She hefts her drink and downs a bit more of it, but her large, stormy eyes never leave Gray's face, looking at him over the edge of her glass.
"And now you're worried that I'm going to read you and discover all of your secrets, yes? Well, it doesn't work that way so relax. You knew I was a Changeling and all Changelings are magically enhanced by the Fae so it shouldn't come as a big surprise. Anyway, no I didn't read you just now. That was just common sense. I don't read people to obtain an unfair advange ... well ... not unless it benefits the larger good. I will not invade your privacy nor can I read your mind. So all of your secrets are safe."
Tiffani swivels on her stool to face directly ahead and takes another drink. "I suppose you'll want to beat a hasty escape now? Well if you do just say so. You would have found out about all of this eventually anyway if ... well ... you know ... if we see each other again. If this isn't just a random encounter in a bar, two ships passing in the night ... and all of that."

Gray seems to think on that for a minute. "Nah, I've seen way scarier this week. No need to run away." His smile becomes a bit more cocksure. "Just maybe a bit embarrassing, because I'm assuming you're likely feeling one of those emotions you just mentioned people giving off." He chuckles to himself and offers a playful wink. "I'll let you guess which. No cheating now, you just promised~"

Re: [Day 5 - LE] Honor your King (Social Thread)
Tiffani fiddles with that ice cube for a few moments longer, listening to Gray. She looks down into her glass, but there's the hint of an enigmatic smile on her face.
"Hmm ... " She says in a tone that says she thinks she knows but is enjoying the playfulness. "I hope it's a good emotion, yes? Though you're probably feeling more than one thing simultaneously ... but, hmm ... I'll try to guess your dominant emotion. And for god's sake, if it's something like 'my bladder is full and I need to piss' I'm going to slap you silly."
She swivels again, back around to face Gray. She leans her elbow on the bar, her head on her hand, those spiral locks spilling down her arm like a little golden waterfall.
"Does ... this emotion of yours ... have anything to do with me, perhaps?"

Craig noticed her reserved nature and gave her a slight rattle by the shoulders before releasing her and standing back up "You good TB, you're not usually so quiet."Triss Bakowski wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 12:04 pmTB just smiled at being recognized and then sipped her margarita too shy to actually say anything in the presence of Bowie and Craig and also a bit more tipsy than expected.
