[D5 EN Chantelle's Apartment] A Gentleman Caller

[Craig Walker]

Craig was a man of his word, he'd told Chantelle he'd be in touch soon and he figured a day and a half was a good amount of time to not seem over eager but let her know he was interested. He texted her and got the address to her apartment. He showed up after the events of the Autumn event still slightly tipsy from the bar crawl but sobering up pretty well with only a mild headache setting in.

On his way over he'd grabbed a nice bottle of wine something sweet but not overly so with a full body and according to the man at the shop a pleasant aroma. Craig wasnt much of a sommelier but he had always been raised to never show up empty handed.

The glowing giant made it to Chantelle's door and gave it two solid knocks and awaited her answer.

Chantelle hurried to the door to answer the knock. Opening it, “mais, Mista Walker, a pleasure to see you.” Behind her, the normally spartan apartment was looking rather bare, if you didn’t count the moving boxes. Everything was neat as a pin, however, when most people would be drowning in chaos, Chantelle was perfectly organised and sparkling clean.

“Won’ you come in? I’m sayin’ farewell to dis place, an’ some company woul’ be mos’ welcome.”

Craig walked in and noticed the boxes and such scattered about "oh yeah? What are ya movin for?" He asked as he looked around the space still in his Blade costume he shrugged off the heavy leather jacket revealing just a combat style vest covering just his torso his large muscular arms exposed.

He gestured with the bottle "got any ice we can chill this on?" He asked with a quirked eyebrow.

Chantelle raised an appreciative eyebrow and, ever the immaculate hostess, took the wine into the kitchen. She knew exactly which box the ice bucket was in, and she needed to get rid of the ice before tomorrow, wrapping the bottle in a wet paper towel and submerging it amongst the cubes. "I 'ave foun' a bigga place, more ligh', more plants. It will be lovely."

Craig surrendered the bottle and placed his hands in the pockets of his pants "Well, congratulations I suppose then, we didnt have to hang out if you were busy I know moving can be stressful. You need any help with anything? Moving wise?" He asked almost reflexively, when you're the big strong guy theres a never ending line of people requesting your help to move stuff.

“Mais, dank you fo’ de offa, bu’ I’m sure it will be fine.” Music has been playing when Craig arrived, but Chantelle used her phone to change the playlist. The dining room table and chairs had already been moved to the new place, so had the TV and its stand; but the shelf unit that held her potted plants and the loveseat were still there, and Chantelle indicated to the direction of the sofa, “mais, no nee’ to stan’ aroun’ like you workin’, make yourself comfor’ble, beb.”

Craig chuckled and moved to the sofa indicated, he sat gently but the furniture still groaned under his weight. "Did you enjoy tonight's party? I saw you, you did, and still do look damn good." He offered with a smile.

“Mais, dank you. I ‘eard you sing,” the egret swept across the small apartment. “May I?” she cooed, indicating to spot next to Craig. It was small, but that was okay because she was as slender and delicate as the fire ogre was large, “you sing well. I daresay we coul’ do a duet sometime.”

"Of course, it's your house after all." He says nodding "And I wouldn call it singin really, I can rap a little but every black kid growin up in New York learns how to do that." He says with a smile "but if you think we could mix up our music I wouldnt be opposed."

Human chairs had become something of an inconvenience for Chantelle and, in the process of tucking her bird feet up beside her and making herself comfortable, she was just about cuddling up to Craig next to her. “I daresay we coul’ ma’ a ‘armony dat work.”
