In the backpack that is open by little Patel's side he can see several old musty tomes sitting there like school books.

"Hey, that's mine!" he said looking down at his bag and pulling back towards him. He shook his head and said, "Stop being so annoying."

“I don’t really know, I guess we are studying them in school,” he said looking in the backpack.


His mother said, “I told you to study those books, that is the only way you will be successful is to know them and understand them and that is how you will get a good job and provide for your wife and know the truth pathways to the glories of Karkosa. Never forget that is where they will take you, and you will stand above the lesser people.”

She turned and put down some naan and butter and some delicious breakfast food. She added, “Now eat up.”

Karkosa...have I heard of that before.

Gray was hardly the most book learned of the Lost, but picking up secrets of Autumn had meant some cramming.

Patel’s Mother smiled and said, “Tell me about yourself, it is so rare that I get to speak with the friends of my son.”

OOC: Karkosa or Carcosa, is often referenced in a short story by Robert W. Chambers in a text called the King in the Yellow. The title refers to a play that recurs throughout the work and it takes place in the distant kingdom or world of Karkosa, there are definite occult overtones in the text and the play was said to bring madness. But of course that was just a work of fiction...

"Well, wouldn't you know, I'm a superhero." Gray smiles over at Patel, a few too many teeth showing. "Or at least, trying to be something like it. I think I'm a bit more Marvel than DC, the Netflix type if you get what I'm saying."
