[D2 LE] No Aphrodisiac (Chantelle’s Apartment)

It had only been three months since she'd been back, and there was a lot of things she hadn't worked out quite yet. She'd cursed her new beak more than a few times, though, and she did so again now. Making little nibbling motions, she preened Marcus' fur below his ear, down towards his jaw, "I'm still workin' some tings ou', beb." She wished, almost fervently, that she could just silence him with a kiss, but that was not an option for the songbird.

"What things?" Marcuc asked, his voice soft even if his question was blunt. Frustration mixed with his hunger, lingering in the air like a scent of ripe plums. "This ain't magic, babe. You, me." One of his claws moved to cup her bosom. "Hunger, lust." The other claw followed in kind, squeezing a little. "Or you telling me you called me in just to tease me?" The scent of plums mixed with that of bergamot - distrust. "Some fucked up Spring things."

His frustration tasted good, in the way lemons puckered your mouth with their sourness, or dark chocolate was bitter, but the notes of distrust were less appealing, she could lose it all if she didn't act. "Mais, if I recall, I invite' you 'ere to brush your fur, an' I 'eld up my en'." Lowering her beak, she looked up at Marcus through her eyelashes, if she had lips, she'd be pouting, "I 'ave to wor' tonigh', beb, oderwise, my time woul' be all yours."

"And then you had your hands all over me, you were cooing." the beast dropped his paws to the side, letting go of the egret, his frustration all too evident. "But if all you wanted to do was to pick my fur, I think we are done." The plumes of his tail seemed to mirror his mood, 'glaring' angrily at no-one particular. "For the night." There was both a promise and a hint of a threat - the unbridled fury of summer.

Now, there was one small predicament. She was still sitting on his lap.

Deciding it would be wise to give the beast a little room, Chantelle slipped from his lap as elegantly as she could, smoothing her dress and her feathers. Disappointment sat on the air, mingling with her floral scent, she’d been enjoying Marcus’ attentions, only to have her own Court turned back on her when he went cold.

She was also wary. Next time—if there was a next time—he wouldn’t allow his words to be sealed so easily, not if he thought she was planning on blue-balling him. The egret sighed, things can never just go to plan, she needed to learn to be more cautious, apparently.

“Will you ac’ept my apologies?” she offered. She hadn’t been the one who got carried away, but she had encouraged him ...and she could still feel him grinding up against her, and she’d liked it.

Meanwhile, his court simmered within his marrow, howling and demanding reprisal. The beast managed to quell the sounds, grunting as she stoop up. While had hadn't had any particular expectations, her fingers on her belly had stirred the fires within. Fires that raged still on. She could easily see as much. "What do your words mean, Chantel? Are you sorry that you called me in? Or that you played with me? Or that you have to go?" His tongue was lolling out and the eyes on his feathers seemed bemused, even if scents of fury and passion still lingered in the air.

Deception was not a tool Chantelle used, and her chocolate eyes were sincere, and a little frightened of the beast. “I’m sorry dat,” dat you pull’ me into your lap? dat you go’ all ho’ an’ bodered so fas’? “I’m sorry if I encourag’ you unfairly, Marcus.” She hoped honesty was the best policy, “I was enjoyin’ de attention,” looking away, “I tol’ how long it’ been,” the egret trailed off with a tiny shrug of a delicate shoulder, she had no intention of playing her durance for sympathy.

"Mhmh." the murmured, his voice low and brimming with simmering fury. But that was the way of his court, they embraced the summer and what came with it so that they could better protect everyone else. But the same rage that let the courtiers of summer to stand their ground when others fled was a double-edged blade of the worse kind. Marcus took a step closer, his ice cold eyes regarding the egret even as he tilted his head to the side. "I'm but a beast. I do not know nor care for the games of spring. I like you." The beast tilted his head to the other side, his tail pushing up straight and flaring out, the eyes intent on her. "Chantel, I accept your apology. But, be careful what you are playing with." the beast growled, letting her know just how hungry he still was.

“I ‘ave no intention of playin’ wit you Marcus,” jus’ ‘olding you off a lil. At the risk of causing the beast to flash over, she placed a hand on his massive chest, “I li’ you too, I jus’ wasn’ expectin’ all dis. I don’ wan’ you to brea’ me.”

"Grrrr..." she could feel his chest heave up and down. "I didn't break Shana. I won't break you." the sweet scent of vanilla puffed out, and she could sense that he at least believed his own words. "Small as you are." his eyes scanned her frame from the tip of her toes to the top of her head. "Then what you were expecting?"
