"Not going. Folks here mean business." The plumed tail flared out in defiance. The eyes on the feathers flickered ominously. "I like that." He grinned, baring his teeth. "I am staying here. Fight if needed. Take few of the devils with me if I can. Give folks like you chance to run."

"Speaking of moving. Would you like to dance?" The beast nodded at the othe changelings, some dancing more openly, some intertwined together like ivy against old bark.

The corners of Chantelle’s beak couldn’t turn upwards, but those muscles moved all the same, her chocolate eyes smiling. “It woul’ be my pleasure,” she offered the beast her hand, setting the cup of wine down on a random table.

Marcus grasped the feathered hand as carefully as he could, leading her among the dancers. When he figured they had space, he turned to face her, moving his claws in her side and tugging her closer. His feathered tail flared out, the small eyes having a smuh gleam.

Trying to pick up on the music, he began to sway slowly, half leading, half dragging the egret along. "Sorry." He murmured, with a voice reminiscent of summer rains. "I am not very good." He took great care, however, to avoid her slim feet.

Chantelle, on the other hand, was light as a bird. She was also trained in dance, and moved with experienced dexterity, feathers rustling gently. She never tried to show him up, she just anticipated his intentions, swaying to where he wanted her to be, fluid as the spring melt.

After what had felt like an eternity to the frozen ball, curled up invisibly in the room, Elizas breathing had started to finally calm and she could open her eyes again. It had been years since she felt terror like that, and she was determined to steel herself for it better next time...sometime deep into the future. Not tonight though. Tonight, she would be wary, and avoid Autumn as much as she could.

Carefully, she rose, and moved away from the initial crowd she was in, not wanting to just reappear in front of masses of people. Once she had moved away, and felt she was in a less crowded area, she ended the contract....

She stopped by the bar for another drink, laughing at nothing and smiling sweetly.

....and reappeared in front of a girl who seemed to be laughing. As she reappeared, a massive drop of temperature would surround the immediate area around the winter changeling, who blinked and looked at the girl, her expression taking on her usual neutral disinterested look.

"What is funny?"

"Mhmhm." Marcus murmured contentedly, keeping Chantelle as close as her could, pressing her smaller frame against his. She could feel his coarse hair against her skin and feathers. His fur smelled of old woods amd bayou water. "You are soft." Half-whispered, half-growled as he leaned closer.

As the beast found his rhythm, Chantelle seemed to melt into him, slender fingers stroked the coarse and matted fur, it was such a contrast to her downy feathers. “An’ you smell jus’ like ‘ome,” she murmured in return.

She downed her drink in another couple gulps, sliding the glass back toward the bartender.
That should probably be my last one she thought, as if the bartender would give her any more at this point. But who's to say.

"No, no I don't" the neutral-toned Winter changeling tilted her head, taking a few moments to get a feel for who was in front of her as a few snowflakes fell around her.

Spring. Of course. Still, it's better than any other season about now I suppose.

"What are you having? I've not touched the alcohol here yet and I'd say you've tried a number of them" she did her best to make it appear like a joke, which with her cold eyes was a challenge.

Gray stills himself a bit.

"Are you certain that you want to take on a mystery Dilyehe? Because if you want to know I can bring you in. I have to see Asluf about something."
