Re: Character themes
Well okay - guess I'll put Tiffani's themes here - and they're from her era, too, the 1980s.
These two really best sum up her character and what she's feeling.
Goin' Home - Corey Hart
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvmL9i7ojNw
They can never take what's in your soul
They can never break what keeps you whole
When the rain comes down.
And then they criticize the way you are
And then they patronize
The dreams you keep so far inside
I will go to where I feel the light.
I'm goin' home
I'm goin' home now
I'm goin' home, I cry
I'm goin' home
Can you count the days that left you dry
And can you count the ways you've asked yourself why
You carry on ..
And you can justify all you do
But when you look around and find you're alone
Tell me, where can you turn to ...
I will go to where I feel the light.
I'm goin' home
I'm goin' home now
I'm goin' home, I cry
I'm goin' home now
For the memories will keep me strong
'Cause you can never forget from where you still belong
For the times I'm lost when I look around
I know I'll always be
Heading northward bound, yeah ...
I'm goin' home ...
(I think Corey Hart had some of the saddest songs of the 80s)
Now, this next song have lyrics that sort of book-end that which relates to Tiffani. The middle stanza, not so much, but the first and last, oh yeah. I changed the pronoun from he to she as well.
Bryan Adams - He's a Rebel

(I only included the lyrics that bears some relevance)
Well she made her way back to the old town
Everything looked just the same
The shops and the schools and the factories where there
But somehow the faces had changed
So she went for a walk on the High Street
Took her coat off and rolled up her sleeves
She thought of her father and her father before him
And how she was the first one to leave
Well she didn't come here for forgiveness
There isn't a lot they can say
Because I remember the reasons
You first ran away
****
When it comes time for leavin'
Don't stand in my way
There's nothing left for me here
Gonna run, run away
In the morning she walked past the old house
In the rain under grey northern skies
There's a new coat of paint on the front garden gate
But there's more here than first meets the eye
For a moment she stares undecided
Thinking back on the days of her youth
As two worlds collide in a moment of truth ...
And that's that I guess. I could post a lot more - yeah, I'm a child of the 80s. So sue me. No wait, don't. Forget I said that.
