[Dapper Dog]

Sitting on the counter is a basket of apples.



The basket of apples is filled to its brim with crisp red apples. They smell sweet and ripe, delicious for eating or making a pie. Surely you can eat them, or else you might die.

[Chantelle Rossette]

"Mais, dat woul' be a concern," she teased the small-statured doll. Frowning, she looked over to the counter, "do you know wha' go' well wit cinnamon, T'Jack? Apples." She didn't recall when she'd gotten the basket of fruit, but she suddenly realised that she was actually pretty hungry, and the apples looked delicious.

[Jack Doyle]

"Those are some very good apples." Jack glanced at the basket as he sipped the cocoa. "Were you going to do some baking?"

[Chantelle Rossette]

"I suppose I was," she agreed, somewhat uncertainly, "I daresay I 'ave a new box of pumpkin spice 'round 'ere for jus' dat reason."

[Jack Doyle]

"Then, let me bake you a pie, in return for your hospitality." he offered.

[Chantelle Rossette]

Tilting her head to one side, "dat woul' be mos' generous of you, are you sure?" Suddenly, she couldn't think of anything else but tender baked apples and cinnamon and nutmeg and ginger, wrapped in buttery shortcrust pastry.

[Jack Doyle]

"It's not the same as carving a toy, but I can make all sorts of things." he shrugged.

[Chantelle Rossette]

Smiling, "den I woul' be 'onoured, delighted even," Chantelle indicated towards the kitchen, "wha' can I do to 'elp?"

[Jack Doyle]

He walked into the kitchen and looked up at the counter. "Do you have a stool?"

[Chantelle Rossette]

Chantelle thought for a moment, sweeping down the small hallway and rustling about in one of the rooms beyond. Shortly, she returned with a sort of stool, "I know it' no' ideal, bu' will dis do?" It was a step stool, designed for reaching light fittings and high cupboards, and would be a bit too high for what Jack needed.
