[Gray]

"OK. Um." Gray's face screws up. "Well, I entered the dream, and the Doc was as he was as a child. As I started to prod him, something that looked like a mother. I tried to nibble around the edges of the target, trying to figure out his intentions...and the mother seemed to say something about how he had to study...something about the city of Karkosa...people crushed under his feet. I tried to give him something about the superheros he's a fan of, and see what he wanted...and then that thing-"

Gray shudders "Said that the child was hers. It's. I tried to stand up to it, and it changed itself, where it's body turned into a whole lot of writhing...writhing. It shifted the dream to a new place, like a Paradigm Shift. It was vast, like Arcadia, but it was nothing like the parts I've seen. I tried to fight it, and it seemed to just be amused, like it said. It called itself, King...Queen...it was Karkosa."

Gray shakes his head. "That was it for the dream. When I got out, I Reaped Doctor Patel, because I had gone through a lot of my Glamour and I wanted that thing's puppet as close to down for the count as possible. I haven't used any Glamour since, if that can help any..."

[Jason Whitt]

"Well there are some possibilities... the world of dreams is world with an ecosystem," Jason replied. "There are things in the deep dreaming that could be seen as entities beyond our understanding but this could also be the case of a living meme or an idea given form through continued conscious acknowledgement of it."

"Say enough people believe in Santa Claus and he becomes real... in a matter of fashion and sustained off the idea of the entity but this very rare. Or perhaps Karkosa is real and the original writer was inspired by this entity or stumbled upon it by accident. There is a theory that Lovecraft saw his stories in his dreams, as if they were planted or experienced by him."

He finished with, "This is riveting if disturbing."

[Gray]

"Which is why I'm a little hesitant to open up the book. I mean, it could just be wanting to get called out if it needs enough attention. On the other hand, the knowledge..." Gray sighs. "That's why I brought it to you. I figured that I could use some wisdom"

[Jason Whitt]

"Do you know the basic story of the King in Yellow?" he asked.

[Gray]

Gray shakes his head. "I don't think I've ever heard of it."

[Jason Whitt]

“The short version is that the King in Yellow is a play divided into parts. The first part is a pretty standard play of drama but the second part is supposed to spark madness in any that read or watch the play as it delves into the mythos of the King in Yellow… sometimes called Hastur if I recall. The King in Yellow resides in the city of Karkosa on a distant world and well is a symbol of madness…. Tangentially related to the Yellow Sign… but really it is the play and the image of this being in yellow that is central to this idea,” he responded.

[Gray]

Gray snaps his fingers. "That thing, Karkosa...it was in a yellow robe when it appeared to me. So, what is the Yellow King trying to do? I mean, madness...ain't exactly something we are unfamiliar with, but I have no idea what he's trying to do with this guy, other than maybe bring more madness here?"

[Jason Whitt]

"It is alien, aspiring wants and needs to it is folly even in the stories. They simply are and are beyond our comprehension," he said thoughtfully.

[Gray]

Gray sighs and shakes his head. "It's way beyond mine, any way you cut it." Gray gestures to the book. "You can have it, if you want it. It might be useful, but I really doubt that I'd be able to grasp it. If you want it."

Gray leans back. "Other than that, I will see if I can get those details about Winter's possible weapon. That was everything I had to report."

"I will keep it for safe keeping... or... take it as a peace offering to Winter, if I know the Queen she will want to see this with her own eyes," Jason offered.
