"Well, I snuck in through the kitchen." he explained. "That was easy enough. The problem was actually getting the éclair, or anything else. It was a busy place. They made the desserts and immediately got them out to the counter or prepped them for shipping. Nothing sat in place for too long."

"But, a place like that, as busy as they were. They couldn't really spare the time to chase down a pastry theif." He chuckled. "Or, so I thought."
"I took a box that had been prepared for delivery and ran." Jack continued. "I didn't know they had another worker coming in. She saw me and gave chase. I'm not sure why she felt the need, but she was determined to catch me. And, she was fast."
"These little legs aren't the best for running." he admitted. "I definitely couldn't outrun her. But, the streets of New Orleans can get crowded, and a boy can slip though spaces adult cannot. The woman was tenacious, though, and she was never far behind me."
