“You know you don’ nee’ to do dat,” she smiled, though the prospect of shoes that really fit was very appealing.

"I know." he smiled. "But, I want to."

“I know,” she echoed, “bu’ I neva wan’ you to feel take’ advantage of.” She rapped her manicured nails on the table thoughtfully, taking a sip of coffee. “Mais, T’Jack, ‘ow woul’ you feel abou’ makin’ dis arrangemen’ more... permanen’?”

"If I can find a way to make a living, maybe with that itsy idea you had." he shrugged. "I could enjoy staying in Minuit."

“I woul’ love to ‘elp you wit dat,” she insisted, “an’ I was tinking, dat dis place is a lil, mais, petite. I ax you to loo’ fo’ a permanen’ place, bu’ wha’ if I ‘elp you fin’ a place and we coul’ be roomies?”

"Just us?" he asked. "Or, were you looking for something big enough for a group?"

“Ow woul’ you feel abou’ dat?” Chantelle asked, “we coul’ ge’ somewhere nice an’ roomy. I know Tiffani is in nee’ of a place to live, an’ perha’s Marcus woul’ li’ to move out of dat traila par’?” Split four ways, they could probably find somewhere pretty nice, maybe on the outskirts of town. She was fairly certain she had enough savings for the deposit.
