[D3 LM] Paranoia (OPEN)

[Marcus Kendall]

There was a paranoid wolf on the loose. He didn't know what had happened, exactly. He only knew that he didn't like it. Something was after him. Something big. Bigger than him. That made him nervous. Figuring that he would be safe in the city proper, Marcus sat at a diner, sipping a cup of cafe. Today he wore a red beanie to stave off the cold, or at least give the pretense that he worried about the weather.

[Craig Walker]

Craig had woken late and was certainly still dragging a bit, there was a reason he hardly ever stayed up late these days. He decided a big cup of coffee might be the thing to perk him up this morning. The big man walked down to the cafe and ordered from the barista there. A few minutes later, coffee in hand, he looked about for a place to sit.

His eyes settled on a large wolf man who he vaguely recognized from the broil a couple nights ago. Craig walked up to the table and motioned to an empty chair "This seat taken?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"It's all yours." the wolf-man muttered, jolting a little as he saw the man he had expected to be a man to be a one of his own kid. He looked vaguely familiar. Was he there when the pumpkin blew up? Marcus mused to himself. Pumpkins rarely exploded. Pumpkins rarely exploded on this side of the Hedge, he corrected himself. Next he was wondering if he had actually seen the tall man, or if he just thought he had seen him because everything had been in flames. "Good morning." he added, nodding his large head. Marcus' feathered tail perked up, the plumes spreading out as if he was an actual peacock. The strangely alive eyes of his feathers eyed the burning man, shying away from it.

"How's cooking?"

Craig took the chair it complained a little under his bulk but it accepted him "Morning." He replied as he took a drink of his coffee. Marcus' question seemed to catch Craig off guard "Uh cant say that I do much cooking in all honesty." He thought for a moment "you new in town? You got a very summery feel to you but I know all the locals like that." He asked casually as he took a second sip.

"Me neither." the beast shrugged, lolling his slimy, all too long tongue out. "Don't care much if the food's cooked or not." Retracting his drool-covered appendage, Marcus took a sip from his cup. "Pretty new. Been here few months. I sometimes hang out with Redmane. Not much, I tend to keep to my own." he explained. "You? I've seen you before."

[Craig Walker]

Craig nodded a bit "I've been around for a few years at this point, I'd noticed you around at the crawdad broil and I think at Biblios but that was chaotic so I'm not sure. You think you'll stick around? The court could always use more soldiers."

[Marcus Kendall]

"I'm sorta part." he shrugged nonchalantly. "I think. Had a talk with Redmane about that sometime ago. I mean, my memory is what it is. The time on the other side wasn't too kind on me." Marcus laughed, sounding much like a hyena chocking on zebra gristle. "Not that it was kind to any of us." the beast tilted his head to the side. "Shit happens." Looking down to his coffee, Marcus sighed. "Speaking of shit. There'a some in the air for sure."

Craig nodded "good I look forward to working with you." He took another drink and then settled back in his chair "what do you mean there's shit in the air? And I sure do hope you're not being literal."

"No." He sighed. "Do you feel it? Like someone was out there, out for you?"

Craig shook his head "no I feel something, something demanding something, an offering. I feel I stumbled into a contract on accident." He answered honestly, sure he didnt know Marcus but Craigbwas rarely ever type for secrets or subtlety
