[D5 EA] Stray (Stray’s Townhouse)

[Chantelle Rossette]

Chantelle clutched the rental listing to her chest and twirled excitedly, “dis is perfect, marvellous, fameux!” She turned to Jack, “dis ‘ad betta no’ cos’ you an arm or a leg or de memory of children’s laughta,” she was only half kidding, knowing that Jack has given up a favour from the Autumn King to find them this listing.

It was right in the French Quarter, near where Chantelle worked; it was big enough for the four of them; and it was only a little bit haunted, so little they probably wouldn’t even notice. It wasn’t a palace, but Chantelle was excited all the same. “Mais?” she looked at the others, “wha’ you tink?”

[Jack Doyle]

"It was just something that came up in conversation, nothing to worry about." he assured her.

[Marcus Kendall]

"It's big." Marcus murmured sounding both surprised and a little happy, his claws on his hips. "Bigger than I expected." the large snout bobbed up and down as the beast agreed with himself, his tail flaring out to fan the air. "Good job Mister Jack." he growled, turning to face the elf-like changeling.

[Jack Doyle]

"Should be room enough for all of us, with a little to spare." Jack nodded, looking around. "Room for more plants, too, Chantelle."

[Tiffani]

Tiffani storms out of what would ostensibly be her room, marches up to the others, and looks at everyone in turn. "What, this dump? You expect me to stay here?"

She waits for just a fraction of a second for her words to sink in, then she bursts out in a peel of giggles. "No, no, I'm just messing with you. Of course I like it ... love it in fact."

At which point, she impulsively gives Chantelle a quick - and somewhat awkward hug - but pulls away quickly so as not to give offense.

"This is one of the few times, I guess, when my curiosity didn't land me in trouble like it usually does. If I hadn't been curious about what kind of bird you were, I'd be sleeping on the streets right now."

Marcus turned to Tiffany, turning his head to the other side. She reminded him of the other sort of elf, the one you saw in World of Warcraft. Except she was less pixelated. The beast opened his jaw, his glistening tongue lolling out as Marcus was amused with his notion. Not that he could complain. He had been playing Night druid himself. When he had had fingers to play, that is. "Har har." he tried to pretend he was laughing at her joke, but miserably failed. "She's good kinda bird." Marcus noted, mostly to himself, though chances were that everyone would be able to hear him.

[Jack Doyle]

"That she is." Jack agreed. "A kind one."

He looked around. "It's a bit empty, but we should be able to pick up some furnishings here and there. I can make some, too, if there's anything any of you'd like in particular."

[Tiffani]

Tiffani gives Marcus one of those askance looks people give when someone is acting strange - and to her, at least, Marcus's reaction was nothing short of mystifying.

"Well, thanks ... I think," she says doubtfully to Marcus. It's a good thing, too, that she didn't know she was being compared to a night elf in WoW or she would develop a neurosis about her ears being too big.

"Anyway, it'll be awhile before I can really afford any furniture - I'm not even sure where I'm going to sleep at this point. I had to put your little fox on my windowsill." She gives Jack a little wink. "But like you say, we'll get things here and there whenever we can afford to."

[Marcus Kendall]

"That she is." Jack agreed. "A kind one."

He looked around. "It's a bit empty, but we should be able to pick up some furnishings here and there. I can make some, too, if there's anything any of you'd like in particular."

Marcus' attention snapped back at the wizened. "You have tools Mister Jack? If you have, I can give you all the wood." He smiled, revealing all the teeth in is maw that way too large for his size. "The bayou has all the wood and I'm strong." To make the point, the beast flexed his arms for a moment, chuckling in a fiendish manner as he did so. The air around the beast stunk a bit less today, the heavy, musky tone mixed with the murky stench of the swamps was somewhat covered with more floral notes.

"I can sleep on the floor." the beast assured, chucking even as he spoke. "Just don't think I'm a rug."

[Jack Doyle]

"I have some tools." he nodded. "And, I have a means of creating them, if I really need them. However, I am thinking of setting up a workshop in the storage room. Wood will definitely be useful."
