[D4, EN] Bayou Cruise

Post by Jonathan Whitford » Sun Oct 13, 2019 4:45 pm

Weather said it was going to rain in the afternoon, and sure it enough, it did, so in order to give it a proper look, one would have to do it in the middle of the night.

The downside of this fact meant that it was cold. So much so he had to put a coat on. He could only imagine others looking on at his clothing being all baggy since his mask was shorter than he was now, but it was worth it to not having to deal with the cold. A few lanterns, a boat that could comfortably fit enough people to tour it on, and maybe a little bit of luck with them.

Hopefully they could find something tonite that he could use to do the ghost tour. On a boat would offer a feeling of fear, mostly because of the implication. That being, of course, you couldn't get off and drag yourself away from the swamp to run away from what was causing you fear, keeping you on the boat.

Hopefully some of his other motley would be along and a few others the last thing he needed was to do this alone.

Arriving, with a mask dressed a touch lighter than perhaps might have been an acceptable norm, Amber arrived. Cold, well, that wasn't a problem in the same way it was for others as it was for her. Less, perhaps, she didn't feel cold but it created some drag on her systems. Too long and she began to feel tired, like how someone felt at the end of the day when they were convalescing from a wound.

Looking around, she looked to find Jonathan, whom had called her here at this hour. It was not an hour she frequently deigned to visit, but she made her exceptions from time to time.

In comparison to the firey being, there was the frosty creature. Dily had retreated into her own mind the past days, but when the call had come for help, she had decided to assist Jonathan.

Besides, the bayou was a familiar place to her. And the cold did not bother her.

It was about as well as he could expect, given the last minute nature, and the time of night. It was miserable, but getting these two was going to be about what he could hope for. Although having everyone there wouldn't be great either, since the boat he got could only hold maybe 5 of them. Just as well it was these two.

"Thanks for coming you two. Amber, this is, Dilyéhé. Just call her Dily for short. Dily, this is Amber. She's new in town and I'm trying to show her around, hoping to convince her to stay a little while in the area. And this..." He motions widely. "...is a swamp. Hoping to find something my Court can use to put on a good night for the people here where we can show our stuff and give them a good show without them realizing it. Pretty simple, I think." He was hoping for Samanatha as well, but it seemed as if she was still recovering from her wounds.

Why in the hell did the think it was a good idea to go into the Hedge with those wounds...

Raising her hand just over her shoulder, she gave a wave that was a simple out and in motion with only her thumb and first two fingers raised. From a distance it was difficulty, but not impossible, to make out the smile that hid just beneath dancing flames. A woman of fire, Amber was ever constantly burning but only gave off what heat she seemed to determine. Which, at current, was enough to remind her companions that she was more flame than person, but from the energy it would expend she wasn't so warm as to make it all that much easier on them dealing with the chill.

"So, you were hoping we could help you out with this somehow then?" she asked, looking to Jon.

"Sort of. I need some perspective, especially one outside of Autumn. Though I was hoping we'd have someone from it to help outside of it, but they would understandably need to rest."

Not to mention that if things go south, having two people who can defend themselves wouldn't be the worst thing to have around.

"The perspective might not be what you want, but we will try nonetheless," Dily spoke in her usual calm and almost flat-tone, giving a proper nod and wave to the stranger. "Working together is good."

"Do you feel it will be dangerous, Jonathan? Or do we wish for stealth?"

"I don't, but then again, when dealing with spirits, one cannot help but be cautious. One doesn't survive as long as I have by not being prepared for things outside of their expertise.

Getting into the boat, he extends his hands to the two women to help them get in. Not really a old habit from his perspective; it was still quite fresh in his mind.

Dily looked curiously at the offered hand for a few moments, before accepting his assistance. It was as if she needed to remind herself of the meaning of the gesture. "Thanks."

Her hand was hard to the touch, and cold as well. Not freezing, but certainly chilly.
