New in Town [Day 3, EM]
New in Town [Day 3, EM]
It was yet early in the day when the aging bus from out of town creaked to a stop, opening it's doors to the city of Minuit. A similarly aging man at the wheel of the bus, tired from his long night right. Soon, for him, it would be time to go home and get some sleep. However, for now, it was the smell of old ripped leather and seat lining that kept him awake.
Sounds of stirring from the back of the bus as one of the passengers collected her things. A duffel bag over her shoulder, smart phone in her hand with a headset plugged in that hung around her neck. Covered, largely, by her dark auburn hair that rested down to her shoulders with only the ear pieces themselves sticking out from underneath. Shuffling her way off the bus she'd stopped to lay her duffel bag down for a moment at the middle of the walkway, taking in the sight of the city surrounding her.
"Minuit," she said to herself.

Re: New in Town [Day 3, EM]
At this point the bus was practically empty, it had been a long ride through the night and everyone else had long since departed at various stops along the path. When the buss came to a stop a young girl, likely in her early to mid-teens stirred slightly but only to tighten her grip on the cylindrical bag tucked into her lap that she had nestled into. Her legs were pulled up on the seat, arms wrapped tightly around the bag. Her cheek rested on it, eyes shut tight, only more so when she began to stir letting out a small sleepy mumble.
It was the slight movement beside her, the sound of footsteps, a little bump of someone passing by when she finally began to wake in earnest. She stifled a small yawn into the bag and reached up to rub at her eyes. Uncurling herself from her bag, she looked around and acclimated to where she was for a moment before pulling herself up by grabbing onto the top of the seat in front of her stretched a little. She slung her bag over her shoulder and walked towards the front of the bus muttering softly as she hopped down the stairs.
"Thank you."
A petite girl, though not small per se for her age, Isabella had her dark hair, black with highlights of striking violet, pulled into two twin tails that hung over either shoulder. She appeared fairly normal, a bit pale perhaps but with a bit of rosiness in her cheeks, at least...if not for the horns. Protruding from her hair were two dark horns, smooth and reflective more like obsidian than slate.
She had been looking back over her shoulder at the bus driver as she came around and down the stairs, looking in front of her again at the same moment the slight creak of the bus door closing came behind her and it began to slowly pull away.
"Wha, woah, oh, God, what the sh-" she paused in the middle of her panicked spouting of sounds and words only because she almost tripped over the curb when she instinctively stepped back, arms going out and twisting a little to maintain balance.
"H-How long were you on the bus!?"

Stretching, or at least making the motion of it, the woman who appeared so casually to the others was replaced by the flames barely bound by their metal cage. Turning about at the sound of the voice Amber looked to the young girl, curious because of the surprise her flame dimmed slightly but grew back and then some in spirit as she noticed the horns.
"Ahh," she said, flames held the shape of a human face just below the surface, she smiled, "I hopped on at the last trolley stop. Connecting here from... elsewhere, I don't rightly remember the name. I hadn't noticed you... were you laid sleeping? Though I suppose you are rather small, even with," the flames extended a bit more before retracting.

Re: New in Town [Day 3, EM]
Isabella tilted her head slightly, seeming to find the way that Amber spoke at times a bit peculiar... and she called the bus a trolley. What was that about? Her curiosity rose.
"Yeah, passed out." she said with a grin, "It was the middle of the night after all, and not all of us glow like a night light."
She reached up, lightly flicking one of her horns with her index finger.
"You're like me, at least... kinda." she said, rubbing her hands together and holding them out in Amber's direction curiously. She seemed to be fire, almost barely contained fire, but would there be heat there? She knew that most people couldn't see her horns, at least regular people, so they probably wouldn't feel the heat from Amber either, but would she? Could she get burned by heat that other people couldn't because they didn't know it was there? Magic was weird.
"People don't tend to always notice me anyway, so it's okay? Where are you from?"
She spoke quickly, almost a spill of words as the thoughts came to her head.

Eye flicking in the direction of the girls hands she smirked underneath the flames, an intentional allowance of the warmth from her ever burning body permeated the air around her now. Though, she did her best to disguise the intent behind it.
"I am from.." her flame, and the already dim heat with it, dimmed considerably, "nowhere, in particular. I have been on the road for some time. Though, maybe I can get off the road for a time here?" she mused aloud, an answer to the question that brought her flame to it's original state.
Amber's cadence was relaxed, in the moment, but with an inherent slyness that was just a tad charming to the ear. Alike an older sister, a rebel, a young woman with an independent spirit. "Have you come from far, little one?" her flame, the heat, perked up slightly.

Re: New in Town [Day 3, EM]
"It's pretty alright here; I mean...safe and all that, I guess." she said casually at the mention of possibly stopping there for a bit. She spoke just like a girl who was speaking of her home town, reluctant to admit that it was actually not too bad of a place to grow up.
"I guess I came from far, at least farther than I had ever been away.. but that doesn't mean that much I guess. I grew up here, when I was..." she trailed off. She wasn't really sure how to finish the sentence. Young? She still was, clearly. Normal...? Human...? What even was she now, exactly?
"I don't really know what to call it to be honest. Before this happened." she said, pointing up at her horns casually. She spoke quickly but also casually, not seeming particularly perturbed about speaking plainly to someone she had just met. Perhaps too much so, naive to the potential ramifications or danger, or perhaps she was confident that despite everything she didn't have much to worry about.

Amber thought on that, when the girl drifted between thoughts on how to define herself, she'd known, however, something Amber could not grasp. Thus, her flames dimmed slightly. Though, she reinvigorated herself but a few seconds later with a suppressed smile.
"Come," she indicated with her head toward one direction on the road, collecting her duffel. Flames danced around the bag though did not burn it, the heat disappeared as Amber offered the girl a flame-born hand, "I can walk with you, whichever way you're going, as long as you'd like. Can give us some time to get to know one another, wouldn't that be nice?" she smiled.

Re: New in Town [Day 3, EM]
Isabella gave a small shrug, adjusting her own bag a bit over her shoulder and reaching out to take her hand. There was a definite pause for a moment before committing to it, some part of her brain likely telling her to not grab hold of the thing that was clearly burning, an instinct from when she was young and learning the rules of the world that truthfully didn't make a whole lot of sense anymore. Things had changed.
"I don't really know where I'm going yet. I mean...I have- had a house here, but I don't think anyone lives there anymore. What's your name, anyway? I'm Isabella."

"Amber," she exchanged as she gave the young girls hand a squeeze. Though incorporeal, it appeared, the touch upon her felt real enough. What had formed her did not remove this from her, at least, although her appearance worried most she burned none but those she wished it upon.
For Isabella, the hand was merely warm to the touch, warmer than most and certainly not alike that of a sweaty palm but a true burning heat. Akin, more, to the heavy warmth of a blanket in the middle of winter. A warm, cozy feeling.
"I don't quite know where I am going either, Isabella. Maybe we can walk then, and when you find where you wish to be I can take you there? Then I should know where to find you, should you ever wish to meet again. Though, I am not hard to find," the smile borne of fire curled pleasantly.
