“Furballs are no’ good loo’ fo’ anyone, beb,” as Chantelle worked free the tangles, she also plucked the worst of the lichen, where it had grown too wild, tossing the greenery on the table. From time to time, she paused to sip her wine, she knew exactly how long she had between verses of each song.

"She called me her furball. Shana. The lass who isn't here anymore." Marcus explained. "Dunno, I didn't hate that." This time he shrugged, his wide shoulders rising and settling down under her fingers. "Please don't get your feathers all dirty because of me, ma'am." When she began to sing, the beast closed his snout, knowing in he was in for a treat. Chantelle could feel him shiver, though she could not tell if it was because of her voice, or if it was because of her touch. When she was done, there was only silence.

"You have really nice voice." was all Marcus managed to say.

“Than’ you, Marcus,” there was an almost solemnity hanging in the air, as if the Wyrd itself had paused to listen. The music playing through the speakers paid no such respects, cross-fading into the next song. Chantelle had somewhat tamed the back of the beast’s neck and shoulders, and began working her way down his spine. She sang along to this song as well, but softer now, in respect for something that had passed.

"That feels... really nice." he leaned into her touch, his voice taking a more bestial tone. She could see his paws twitch now and then when she hit a good spot. "Been a while since anyone..." what the Marcus had planned to say was deafened by satisfied, bestial growl.

Chantelle didn’t need to lean forward far, her beak by the tall wolfman’s ear, “since anyone touch’ you?” her voice was a curiously breathy coo. She could smell the swamp on him, the way the summer sun made the bayou scent rise on the hot and steamy air currents; it was an earthy, life-giving smell.

The egret’s durance had changed more than her physical form, and the beast’s growl triggered synapses in her brain, firing mental processes that she could control no better than she could control the feathers she had sprouted over much of her body. Chantelle stopped brushing. Her left hand let go of the tuft of fur she’d been detangling, sliding around Marcus’ waist, over coarse fur and wild lichen, spidery fingers burying themselves in the hair of his stomach.

"Aye..." this time his voice was deeper, seeping with hunger. Not the hunger his own court knew, but one that she knew all too well. As much as Marcus was a beast, he was still man at his core, pained by the same wants and desires as the people untouched by the Fae. "Been a while." he moved his arm to grab her hand, gingerly wrapping his large paw around her warped fingers. "Come here and make yourself comfortable, will ya." she could feel him pulling her carefully towards himself. When she stepped to his side, he would wrap one of his arms around her waist and tug her towards himself, making sure that she fell on his lap.

The brush clattered softly as she dropped it back on the table, letting the beast pull her into his lap. His hunger was delicious and she chuckled, draping a feathered arm over his shoulder, the faux wing resting on his large arm like a cape. “My Keepa lock’ me in a cage too,” her beak was low, held out of the way of Marcus’ muzzle, causing her to look up through her long eyelashes at him. “No one was eva eva to touch me.”

"Mhmhm..." the beast ran his paw over her back, letting his knuckles brush over her feathers. Smirking, he wrapped his claw around her derriere, pressing the Chantelle against his chest. "Better I touch you all over now then." Marcus muttered softly, pressing his snout right by where she once had her ear. "You do like this, don't you?" the claw that held her in place tightened its grip ever so slightly. "Being touched like this."

He untangled his other hand from her fingers, running it along her arm before coming to a rest on her shoulder. "You are so so small. I am afraid I might break you." He ran a single claw along her neck all to way under her beak.

The fabric of the sundress was light and thin, and there was nothing but feathers underneath. She clearly delighted in Marcus’ attention, melting her slim body against his large one, her soft curves to his hard muscles. With her hand freed, Chantelle tickled her manicured nails under the beast’s chin, “mais, dey touch’,” she crooned, “when de Keepa wasn’ lookin’, bu’ you wouldn’ be such a beas’ to pull ou’ my feathas, woul’ you?”

As Chantelle told about the abuse she had had to endure, she could feel Marcus tensing, his claws pulling her ever more tightly against his wide chest. "Oh poor thing." The hand that found its way beneath her beak moved to stroke her cheek at first, and then ran down from the top of her head, down her neck back to her shoulder. "You are safe now. We'll keep you safe." the beast proclaimed proudly, fury mixing with his hunger. "I try to be careful babe." Meanwhile his other claw had found its way beneath her hem, now resting on her thigh. She could feel his coarse fur on the soft feathers that covered her limbs.

The beast was slowly awakening. "You smell really good." his breath was hot against her skin even as his fingers danced over her spine. "You sweetest little thing." the beast's voice had a low, almost growl-like sound to it. "I want to taste you.." Next thing Chantelle felt was his teeth brushing over the small feathers that covered her neck.
