[Day 3 - LN] Hail to the King (Limited)

The gathering was far from the main road, the people that were here wore masks and dark clothes some in robes and others in simple sweat suits. They were gathered around the oldest tree in the orchard or so it was said, the first tree planted by the farmers that first found it… or perhaps were drawn to it.
Hanging from the tree were blood red apples that shone in the moonlight. The crowd stood in silence, knowing their purpose here or perhaps drawn here by the call of the entity to renew what was and shall be.
OOC: This thread open to three players, combat is not likely but if sought will be very deadly.

The problem with loving mysteries is that you can't let them go. Even if you think you should. Jack hadn't been able to sleep. He had returned to the orchard, wanting to learn more.
Seeing the gathering, he held back for a few minutes. He stood quietly in the dark shadows of the orchard, watching.

Mina was staying back, but kept an eye on the going's on, curious - oh so curious.

The crowd turned their attention to the tree as it began to crimson sap from the bark that pooled at the foot of the tree. There was a growing silence, an eerie unnatural silence, or an absence of sound completely as something drew near.
They could not hear it but they felt the prickling of the hairs or whatever [passed for hairs on the Lost on the back of the neck.. The feeling of a predator drawing near that triggered the flight or fight response.
Many in the crowd threw their hands to the sky but there was no sound so they could not tell what was being said if anything. All they can see are eyes and scant features as it broke through the trees, easily some twenty or so feet at the eye height.

Jack watched. He was tempted to step closer, but not foolish enough to do so, yet.

As the creature gets closer it’s shambling shape vanishes into the trees and out from behind the old tree a young girl emerges wearing rough spun clothing and barefeet. She knelt down and beckoned the people to come forward and they approached and she fed them from the pool of crimson sap, it smells coppery with a hint of cinnamon.
Those that are fed hungrily lick her fingers and anywhere they can find the sticky crimson sap.
The apples begin to bloom into fleshy faces and sing a dirge which breaks the eerie silence.

Well, that was interesting. Jack carefully moved closer, watching those who had partaken of the sap.

Craig was a little late to the party but he had felt a need to come back out to the field where he had spilled his own blood. He had to know more of this thing that stalked his dreams. He had no intention to interfere but he was obviously going to stick out a bit. Even his normal dull glow was like a beacon in this late night hour.

The people continue to gorge themselves on the sap, if the girl-thing has noticed them it does not seem to show it.
