[D2 EM] Contract Work

[Jonathan Whitford]

Another early morning for Jon, another coffee in his hand to make it thru the day. Stopping in to gain some semblance of consciousness from the grogginess of the previous evening's events, though it was more mentally exhausting than physically for him. Little damage came from the experience in either of the moments of it before the Winter childe got too eager with the kerosene. Whatever fallout will befall those involved remained to be seen, but what little he knew of the king, something would be done in time for compensation.

For now, at least, he could at least contribute to this Faire and offer his services to him while possibly seeking another favor in return.

The blocked nature of the entrance was a bit of a hassle, though, and it was a clear sign that he did not mean for it to cross. While physical barriers meant as much to him as he wanted them to, it wouldn't be the wisest of moves to upset Jason, especially since he came to ask for a favor. For now, Jon would sit in the cafe and consider his approach on this matter before deciding how close to the letter of the law he should follow the wordless barrier.

Jason exited the blocked off area and headed outside, smartphone in hand as listened on a call. He responded, “So everything is in order then, good that gives me some peace of mind.”

He stood just outside the entrance to the bistro and continued his call.

It was serendipitous then that he actually came out, then. No need to go figuring out what to do with the others, small of a early morning crowd as it was. He approached him as he was on the phone, still ever the marvel of how small and portable it was, and nodded his head to attract his attention to himself as he stood in front of him.

He allowed him to continue his conversation, as it was more of a priority of what he intended to do today. Still, he motioned to him the intent to speak with him in case it was clear enough, but he still gave himself enough distance to allow him some privacy to finish his call. He was many things, but he could respect ones need for privacy.

He ended his call and said, "Mister Whitford, how can this humble monarch of the autumnal season serve you this day?"

"Well, my king, moreso how I can help you. Seeing as what mess was left for us by our guests yesterday, I wanted to see what I could do to help you get the shop on up and running, preferably fastYou know with the faire and everything going on, I figured my skills might be put to use to help get you up and running again."

He gave a smile at him and looked on as he waited for the response, giving a small sip of his coffee in the meantime.

"Well it depends on what skills you wish to offer," he replied quietly.

"My Craftsmen skills, for something more immediate." His voice is lowered to match his. I could probably rebuild most of the shelves and foundation a lot faster than most people, though working with metal is more of my forte."

He nodded his head and looked on. "Though if there is something else my king could use me for, I'd be glad to hear the request. For there is also a idea I wish to put to you if you'd hear me."

"Then put to me your idea, I prefer to get to the point," he responded.

"Well, with Halloween just around the corner, I felt it wise to utilize it for the harvest season. Therefore, I wanted to see if, with your permission, we could possibly put on a haunted attraction of some kind this year. It seems like a easy means to secure what we need, at least for this month, and to be honest, if we mix what is available for the markets with our Court's own particular brand of skills, within reason, it would be...difficult to differentiate between the two as long as we're smart about it."

He smiled at him and nodded his head. "It's just something that's been spinning around in my head most of the year, but it should be possible to pull it off this early on in the season if we act fast on it."

He smiled and said, "Oh that is a delicious treat, please make it so."
