Re: [D1 LA] Among the reeds and willows
"They are evil no? They are not humans, yes? They do what they will, when they well, for reasons we cannot comprehend?" the beast's tongue lolled out again. "How is that different from demons. If it quacks, it is a duck." he interjected, watching her move. His tail followed in suit, the eyes of the peacock feathers seemingly following Dilyéhé.
"Yet, I did those things. A murderer is no less murderer even if he hasn't killed anyone in a while, yes." the grumbling voice stated. "I can still remember the taste of the human flesh. So tender." the beast smirked, though his tail rolled its eyes in protest. "I did not chose. I was made one." he reached his paw towards her, showing his long claws. "This is no human hand." Growling softly, the beast bared its teeth. "These are no human teeth. We are all monsters, one way or another."

What humans see
Wears: Very little.
Would you love a monsterman? Could you understand, the Beauty of the beast?

She cocked her head back slightly as she regarded Marcus, her demeanor icy cool as her voice rose slightly from its usual calm tone. "Evil does not equate demons. There are actual demons in this existence, but they are not the Fae. Though I agree that they are both evil. As are many other things - humans included."
The murky bayou water wasn't the best, but it felt good to rid herself off the stench of the city, its people, and most of all the kerosene and other chemicals she had a hard time discerning.
Still, she saw there was no point in continuing the topic at hand - it was simply incompatible. "If you are new to... being back with humans, there are folk here in Minuit who can be more helpful than I. Redmane the king of summer, is a good sort, if you have not met already."

"They are daemons enough for me." he shrugged. "Haven't seen worse. Father William says that the demons are real. I believe him." Marcus added, sounding convinced. "The daemons are all too real. And they make you do awful awful things." His plumed tail perked, as it the beast had said something interesting, fanning out much like peacock's tail would have, had it grown on a wolf's tail. The eyes were now glaring at Dilyéhé.
"I've met him." Marcus nodded. "Seems like a decent person. Most people here do. Everyone's fucking scared and for a reason." he glanced over his shoulder as if was afraid of something. "It's hard to think that there would be a safe place."

As he glanced over his shoulder, so did she pause to take in their surroundings. She could not notice anything unusual now, except for them, and the bayou seemed its usual self.
"We are never truly safe... but as before, some places are safer than others. And there is strength in finding trust in others too - a rare gift, if one can find it."
Finishing rinsing her arms, she shook them to rid them of some of the water still clinging to the coat. "Name is Dilyéhé, but you may call me Dily. I wish you no harm."
There. A good greeting.

"I might have some problems with that." the beast announced, his fluffed out plume looking almost bemused. "Can't trust everyone." he shook his head, practically growling the last vowels. "Do't think they trust me either. They know what I am." Marcus opened his mouth wide - all too wide.
"Marcus Kendall. People call me Mark." he replied in kind. "Dilly-yehe is a mouthful, so I'll go with Dily if you don't mind." The once so puffy tail slipped against the ground.

"It's alright. Many find the name unusual." She did not seem bothered by it at all.
"Trusting everyone is risky, I agree. But if you find a few you can trust, that is good. There are few people to trust in this world, human or not. I find the creatures of the bayou more trustworthy than the humans mostly - nature is... more of a comfort than the city."

"Well, I'll make my mind if I find people like that." he growled. "Folks here seem decent, especially Redmane. Not sure I trust him." Chances were that the small community trusted Marcus more than he trusted them. Then again, they had seen people like him before while all this was very new to him.
"Gotta hope they keep the gas away from the grills tonight." his tongue lolled out. "One explosion is enough, don't you think."

"Yes... enough explosions for one day," she agreed, shuddering slightly from the memory and the stench that didn't seem to want to leave them yet.
"Redmane probably uses charcoal for the cooking - he seems to like that kind of style. I am told it makes the food taste better too, but I'm uncertain if it's true."

"No idea whose idea that was." He lolled out his tongue. "Then again, our bunch isn't exactly sane." The beasts laughter had a twisted hyena-like sound to it. "Didn't really expect to find anything this organized." He waved his hand in the direction of the town, again.
"Grilled food's good." Both the beast and his tail eyed the other changeling as if she had said something strange. "I don't remember much of life before. But that much I can remember. " Marcus squinted his eyes. "Or are you one of those vegestorians?"
