[D4 EA] Breakfast at Sweethearts (Chantelle’s Apartment)

Chantelle hadn’t gone to sleep until around 3 that morning, but that was normal for her, as she usually worked until around then. So, it was sometime after 9 that she rose and showered and was now making herself breakfast in the small kitchen. The smell of fresh coffee wafted through the apartment as she began to pull various fruits and other containers out of the fridge.

Setting everything on the counter, she was reaching for a bowl when she noticed the cuts on her arm were seeping again, not real blood, but plasma, the scabs. Feeling better, having rested, she drew on the Glamour that surrounded her, crooning softly to herself as she smoothed the ethereal ointment on her arm, watching the cuts seal themselves. Pleased, she peeled away the steristrips that had held the skin together, massaging the fragrant Gift into her skin more completely.

Jack finally woke up. He emerged from his room carrying a long branch, studying it as he walked up to the table. He looked up to offer Chantelle a smile.

"Good afternoon."

[Chantelle Rossette]

“Mornin’,” she answered cheerfully, “or af’ernoon, I ‘ope it’s no’ dat late, I sai’ I woul’ ta’ Tiffani to mee’ de Autumn King once Biblios open.” Opening some containers, she began to prepare herself breakfast, “ca’ I ge’ you someting to ea’? or some coffee? both?”

"Both, if you don't mind." he yawned. "I just assumed I slept through the morning."

[Chantelle Rossette]

“You ‘ad a long nigh’,” Chantelle answered, “wha’s wit de stick?” She poured coffee for both of them, setting a little jug of milk and a little sugar bowl in the table for Jack to help himself. She started cutting fruit and, before long, she was bringing two bowls and two spoons over to the table. Each bowl contained oats that had been soaked overnight in milk until they were soft, vanilla yogurt, and mixed berries.

Should anyone check, Tiffani and all traces of her are gone, the place where she slept tidied up as if she had never been there. Apparently she had slipped out at some point before everyone woke up.

"It's from the Apple King." he explained. "Not what he was offering, but of more use to me, I think."

[Chantelle Rossette]

Arranging herself in the seat opposite Jack, she sipped her coffee and made a disapproving cluck of her tongue, “I ‘ope you know wha’ you go’ yourself into, mon petite,” though she didn’t share Marcus’ anger, she was wary of the Apple King’s underhanded ways.

"It should be fine. It was a one time deal for me and he won't return for five years." He stirred some sugar into his coffee.

“Five?” the information surprised the egret, but reassured her too. “Mais, will you ma’ someting fro’ dis branch, den?”
