[Day 5 - LE] Honor your King (Social Thread)

[Gray]

"Does ... this emotion of yours ... have anything to do with me, perhaps?"

"Hmmm, I think you're getting warmer." Gray leans back, sipping the drink with a smile on his face like...well, a cat that just ate the canary.

[Tiffani]

"Mmhmm ..." Tiffani says as if she just discovered a chest of treasure. "And ... does this emotion of yours involve ... you running away in terror in the hopes that you never see me again?"

She smiles a little coyly, "Or does it involve having a whirlwind romance in exotic places ..."

"Perhaps it's something in the middle, maybe?"

[Gray]

"Well, that running away in terror thing would be Fear, wouldn't it? Autumn is the Court of Fear, isn't it? I could be so frozen in terror I can't move." Gray leans in a little closer and then sticks out his tongue. "I told you already that I've seen far scarier this week, and she didn't look half as pretty as you...even before the tentacles."

[Tiffani]

Tiffani holds her hands up and forms claws with her fingers and says melodramatically, "Boo!"

She takes another little sip of her drink and then fans herself for a moment. "Wow, this is really getting to me. I just hope you aren't expecting tentacles because ... wait, were you really with someone with, uh, tentacles?"

Tilting her head again, she gives Gray that rather innocent-looking curious stare - which he would recognize as almost cat-like.

[Gray]

"Only in dreams...a literal dream. And I wasn't with, so much as met and it was in someone else's mind... It was a very strange day." It idly occurs to Gray that he's being more loose than usual. "It was some kinda thingy pretending to be a mother of someone and it wanted to disguise itself as something harmless. Annnnnd I'm rambling"

"Long story short: Don't break out into tentacles. Please. Trust me, it would not be an improvement." Gray's smile is now looser after a few drinks. "

[Tiffani]

"You don't think I would look good in tentacles? I thought it was all the rage in 2019," Tiffani teases. "I thought I'd get one surgically attached to my chest."

Then she puts her arm in front of her chest and waves it around as if she's imitating a tentacle growing there. But then she gets slightly more serious, though with the number of drinks in her, it isn't all business.

"I have to say, though, you have ... uh .... quite the exciting life, rambling or not. I didn't even know people could just walk around in the dreams of others, but then again, there's a lot about this that I don't know. I was supposed to be a scientist not a practitioner of magic - and yet I used magic of a sorts to help with my tale to the king."

She rubs her temples on both sides of her head. "Ugh, and I thought quantum mechanics could bend your mind."

Yes, Tiffani figured that Gray was being loose with his tongue, especially considering his somewhat secretive words from earlier in the conversation. She didn't press the point, though, despite her curiosity, since she didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

[Bowie]

"Oh, well, that's too bad," Tiffani said to Bowie. "You should consider sticking around awhile.

She takes a couple more drinks then asks, "Where do you plan to go from here? Not that you have to tell me of course. Just idle curiosity."

He chuckled and said, “I don’t know really, like you I don’t have much of a home to go back to without complications. I stayed in Thailand for a few months on the coast in Khanom, it was beautiful but not home and so I had to move on. Minuit will be home for now, but my heart likes to wander.”

[Tiffani]

Tiffani turns her attention from Gray to give Bowie a thoughtful look.

"Sounds kind of lonely, wandering like that. Yet, at the same time, I can see the appeal. I would love to visit Thailand someday. I had plans to do a lot of traveling once I managed to accumulate some cash but ... yeah."

She stops rambling with a suddenness that's almost startling as if she knew Bowie probably wouldn't be interested anyway.

"So how long are you staying? Just until the festival is over?"

[Bowie]

"Maybe... money is short, so probably just before I hit the road. Have not had good luck finding a place to stay, I tend to as they say couch surf," he said with a smile.

[Tiffani]

Tiffani chuckles musically at the term "couch surf" and then nods.

"Well, I'd offer my couch to sleep on ... but, uh ... I don't have a couch. I don't even have a bed. In fact, if it wasn't for Chantelle I might have even asked to travel with you for a time. Make the road less lonely, perhaps ... for both of us."

She then thinks about the events of the past day - which haven't been particularly good.

Tiffani reaches out and gently touches Bowie's arm. "In fact, don't go anywhere without telling me."

She looks at Gray with an uncertain look, then turns her eyes back to Bowie. "Depending on how things work out, I still might want to come with you. Maybe. Unless you're hellbent on going it alone."
