[D2 LA] Deadlines & Commitments (Chantelle's Apartment)

Chantelle blinked slowly, setting down her splayd. Her plate was empty, and she couldn’t seem to recall finishing. “Mais, I daresay I can no’ recall, ‘ow strange.”

"That's too bad. I'd like some more." he shrugged. "I'll shop around for them, I suppose."

[Chantelle Rossette]

Murmuring thoughtfully, “mais, if you fin’ dem, le’ me know.”

[Jack Doyle]

"Of course." he nodded. "Is there anything else that would interest you?"

[Chantelle Rossette]

Chantelle tapped her long fingernails on the table, “noting I can pu’ my min’ to, bu’ I nee’ to do some shoppin’ myself tomorrow.”

He nodded. "Is there anything else I should know about staying here?"

“Don’ mess wit my flowers,” Chantelle teased, indicating to the potted plants. One shelf held a number of orchids, trails of exotic blooms hanging from their long stems. Orchids were tropical, and it certainly wasn’t that hot or humid in the apartment. “Don’ fre’ so much, T’Jack, I’m sure tings will be fin’.”

“I ‘ave a guest comin’ lata, so bes’ you ma’ yourself no’ around then, bu’ afta dat, I ‘ave to wor’, so you free to come back den.”

"Will I need a key?" he asked.

[Chantelle Rossette]

Chantelle paused, she hadn’t thought about that. Somewhat stiffly, “mais, if you’ gon’ be comin’ an’ goin’, I daresay you will.” The egret rose and entered the kitchen, opening one of the drawers. She didn’t need to fuss or dig, everything was precisely where it was meant to be. She took out the spare key, laying it next to Jack’s plate, “dere, dat shoul’ do you.”

Picking it up, he fished a bit of twine from a pocket and his knife from another. A moment later, the key was tied to the pocket knife and they were both put away.

"Thank you. That should be all I need."
