More than one inferno [D1, LA]

She tried to recall if she'd ever seen a crow-person; either since her escape, or before; where the memories are less clear. Was someone following her?

"Did dey say anythin'? *Do* anythin'?"

(You hazily remember a crow person before your escape)

"I-I-I... don't know...." She seemed scared by Samantha's uncertainty.

One of Mother's children? Her body felt even colder than it normally did as she considered the implications. But whoever it had been, they were not here now, so at least for the time being she was safe. Sensing her unease, Samantha grabbed Rebecca's hand once more.

"It is alright, you've helped me a lot, cher. I shall go find Louis; and if anyone comes asking, I was not here, oui?"

[Mirachaya]

"Alright... please make sure he finds a home fitted to his unique nature. I don't think I really could have given him what he needed."

[Samantha Hayne]

"I will, cher; until then, stay strong."

She released the ghost's hand, and started walking away from the ruined house; keeping a close eye on her surroundings. Looking for any signs of this crow person, their passing, any other ghosts that might be around, or gates to other realms. Should she find none, she would instead walk for a long enough period until she found it safe to emerge again.

(You find a cracked mirror, as Samantha knows mirrors are doors into the hedge, it appears to be a trod)

If it was a huntsman that came to the ruins, perhaps this was the trod they had taken. Or perhaps it belonged to the local freehold instead; she wasn't sure. She might have to make some inquiries, or simply explore it herself... though that seemed risky, and she hadn't really returned to the hedge since her escape. It was tempting though, to see where it led.

But it was not a thing to pursue just yet. Maybe tomorrow. Or the day after.

Assuming she didn't discover anything else, she would move a street or so away from the trod, called upon a bit more of the glamour, and started materializing again.
