Lily nodded her head and took a breath, noticeably relaxing.
"Well as long as I get some booze I'll be just fine lol. How about you?"

She stared at the girl for an uncomfortably long silence before the answer came.

She did not understand what the term 'l-o-l' meant. But then there were many things she did not understand, and it didn't do to dwell on them overly much. So she shook the confusion out of her mind in order to answer the question.

"Do not care for drink much, me. De food however, dat I am much looking forward to. May be good enough to dull the loss from de fire, for de autumn king too, yes? But so... where'd you come from, belle? Before the thorns and all that. Not from here, no? "

Slowly getting used to they way this one acts, she tries her best not to react during long silences, giving them time to respond at their own pace.

Lily visibly tensed at the images that questions about her past caused to flashed before her eyes.
"Doesn't matter, I'm here now"

She smiles and holds out her hand for a handshake
"My name's Lily by the way, what do they call you?"

"It matters to dey who remember de life they left behind," she said, looking at the offered hand.

She was unsure as to the handshake. There was power in handshakes; for it might be seen as the seal to a pledge. Not here though; no oath had been promised, thus no seal implied with a simple shake of a hand. So she reached for it; a cold hand, not quite porcelain, not quite skin, taking Lily's hand for a momentary shake before retracting.

"Dey call me Samantha Hayne, for lack of a name that is not mine to keep now. "

Lily shook their hand, and as she pulled back glanced at her watch
"Shit, I've got to run. Well maybe I'll see you at the party later yeah? Nice to meet you"
She got up, making sure her guitar was situated on her back before starting to walk away. She had to get home to start getting ready.

It was unexpected. One moment the girl had been all smiles and small talk; the next she rushed off. The sudden shift was enough to intrigue Samantha; who had little better to occupy her time with...

...so she decided to follow the girl.

Not in plain sight, of course. But she was not exactly as invisible as she could've made herself become, either. For now, she was simply a face in the crowd, on the streets. Tailing Lily as she went off to... to wherever it was she was going. Secret things, Samantha hoped. She always hoped for secret things. They were her favorite.

Lily headed toward her apartment, planning a little stop on the way. She shivered and stopped, as she got the feeling someone or something was watching her, she looked around and tried to find the cause.

Samantha remained hidden. Was it her presence that had caused the shiver, the feeling that Lily was being watched? She'd gotten close to knowing for certain, but as it was; it seemed more likely it was just the natural paranoia that the victims of the Fae carried with them for however long their hard-won freedom might last them.

Samantha would continue to follow; observing the other changeling out of idle curiosity more than anything else. Observing how a more modern-minded member of the Lost interacted with the world around them.

Lily didn't find anything, she grit her teeth and began walking again, relaxing a bit as the feeling left her. She rounded the corner to enter a convince store that was all but abandoned, a single guy sitting behind the counter. Lily walked up and exchanged pleasantries, before slipping the guy some cash and was handed some weed in return. This would help her nerves for the party that's for sure. She didn't stay long, as soon as she had what she needed the said goodbye to the man and started walking back toward home.
