[D3, EA] Under the Hammer (Jon's Auto Repair)

[Jonathan Whitford]

"If you've not settled in just yet, I can be surprised that you haven't heard of it." He looked around. "Lonely life to have wandering around with no roots settled. Should consider looking to stop every so often and settle for a bit."

He steps over to the peculator and plugs it in, within a few moments, the water within starts to boil up. "Planning on staying here long or just passing thru to find a yourself a ride?"

[Amber]

"I don't know," she said, as if caught on the wind of a thought. Leaving the records alone she moved over to the record player. Examining the memory of the old days with an interest.

"Haven't found a place that needs me yet. I never did much like the idea of just.. the stagnancy of the common life. Not that my life is all that common, anymore." she shrugged. "Would prefer to just have something to do over having roots."

[Jonathan Whitford]

"Nope, that much is true. Our ordinary is gone; but losing yourself to what changed us is harder when around others to keep you balanced. Just something to consider from this old mechanic. Though, keeping busy does help keep your mind off the troubles. Good place to do that here, depending on your skillset."

He looked down at the coffee maker and nodded his head. "Want a cup, miss?"

[Amber]

"Road never treated me wrong, always run into somebody. Even if they're not always," she tilted her head, "understanding. Still, it'd be nice, but I'm not one to settle until it's right."

Turning about she offered a nod, "Cream and sugar?" she asked.

[Jonathan Whitford]

He nodded his head and poured one into a foam cup and poured in some milk from a small fridge. It was...just too strange to use that non-milk creamer thing. Not yet, anyways.

Handing her the cup, he started to pour one himself.. "Well, I don't mind giving a fellow Lost on the journey a goal or a means to do something in the meantime. Could use it as a payment for a bike if it's something you really want." It was so strange to consider a woman wanting to ride one. How strange to think of a woman on a Harley...those things weighed a ton to lift up. Probably could handle it now, and maybe they were lighter now.

Another confusing thing for the times to consider.

[Amber]

"It is," she said, glancing off elsewhere, into her minds eye. Picturing herself next to such a bike, just like that woman she saw in... "Anyway. I can handle most things, point me at something and I'll help you if I can. Might even ask you to help me out a little more... if'n you're willing that is. New in town and all, I'd like to get a chance to meet the people worth knowing. I reckon that you'd know at least a few of them, being here long enough to be running a shop at least."

[Jonathan Whitford]

"I'm willing to make it a deal, though I am one who makes the deals and cannot make it myself. A third party can be done for this, but we'll worry about that later. Until then, I can let you meet my motley, maybe find something for you to do there. Introduce you to my court, if you want." He nodded his head. "All the while I can make that bike in no time. Easy enough, just need the framework and the time. In return..." He looked down as he poured his own coffee, giving it a small nod. "I'll want a favor in return. One that will match the effort given in this task; nothing more. Even allow you the right to refuse it if you have a good reason to so, though you'll still owe me. I think that sounds quite fair."

He poured his milk into the cup and started to stir it in, adding in the sugar without much delay.

[Amber]

"Quite fair, Mr. Jon," she said, a smile played out on her fire-borne lips. Shifting away from the record collection, the player, she'd moved over toward him where he prepared the coffee. "Having a choice of my favor in return, well, how can I refuse such a good deal? I shall look forward to meeting your motley, did you want to tell me a little about them now? Or, perhaps you would like to discuss more on that favor you might ask of me?"

[Jonathan Whitford]

"I think it's best people make their own opinions of people as they meet them. Perspectives are always different, after all." He nodded and sipped his cup. "And I think having a small contract such as that will not bind you this place, unless you want it to." He nodded. "I'll send them a text message on my telephone and see if we can arrange a small get together. We do want to encourage more of us to band together, after all. Who knows, maybe you'll find a measure to settle before the end of it."

[Amber]

"Then I will meet them tomorrow," she said, with a more subtle smile. Bringing the cup up to her lips, such a normal interaction that appeared.. rather mystical, considering. No motions of the normal drinking was taken, merely the coffee came up to her lips, poured down beyond these flames that shaped the human form, and then... perhaps they merely vanished, or burned away.
